Revelation and Convergence: Flannery O'Connor Among the Philosophers and Theologians October 6-8, 2011 Loyola University Chicago An academic conference addressing the literary, philosophical, and theological influences that converge in the works of American writer Flannery O’Connor. Committed speakers include: Ralph Wood; Susan Srigley; William Sessions; Stephen Schloesser, S.J.; Steve Watkins; Hank Edmondson; Christina Bieber Lake; Avis Hewitt; Mark Bosco, S.J.; Ben Alexander; Leo O’Donovan, S.J.; and John Desmond Proposals for 20-minute presentations should focus on particular thinkers upon whom O'Connor drew directly (such as Sophocles, Dostoevsky, Chardin, Barth, Niebuhr, Bouyer, Adam, Mauriac, Maritain, Gilson, Guardini, Voegelin, D’Arcy, Lynch, Ong) or figures whose works help illuminate hers today (such as Gadamer, Ricoeur, Habermas, de Lubac.
